A Warm and Joyful Welcome to the Babies Class!

Welcome to the Babies Class! My name is Joan Zulu. Alongside me is Patricia, my wonderful assistant, and together we will be the “day moms” for your precious little ones.

On a personal note, I am a proud mom of one child and have been teaching for 14 years. Since joining Toddler’s Corner, I have cherished working in a family-oriented environment where the love and care of children are our top priorities. It will be our absolute pleasure to take care of your babies.

In our class, learning happens through fun and engaging activities. Each baby follows their own schedule, and we encourage them to drink water from their water bottles during playtime, especially in hot weather. Please ensure that only water is sent in their bottles. Baby bottles will be given according to each baby’s individual schedule, and snacks from home are always welcome.

We maintain a journal/book to keep ongoing communication between parents and myself. Evidence-based reports showing various milestones are compiled in June and December.

Our Daily Routine

Every morning, we start with a cheerful “Good morning, good morning” song

We also enjoy singing and doing actions to:

  • “If You’re Happy and You Know It”
  • “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes”
  • “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”

Storytime is a daily delight. (you should see how attentive even the little Babies are at story time).

Our young babies are either in their chairs, or on the floor, watching or absorbing, and, where possible they take part in our little activity.

Fine Motor Activities

When your child is ready or shows interest, we engage in:

  • Building blocks
  • Hand/finger painting
  • Crayon scribbling on paper
Gross Motor Activities

We encourage:

  • Sitting and crawling
  • Getting up on all fours
  • Learning to clap hands
  • Swaying/moving/dancing to rhythm
  • Transitioning into different positions (e.g., sitting on all fours, lying on the tummy)

Our daily routine is flexible, keeping in mind that each baby has their own schedule. Nappy changes will differ for each baby.

Together we will have loads of fun learning new things along the way!
